We’re in the belly of the Treefort 2018 beast — day three! Here’s to another day of dancing, laughing, and celebrating.
Main Stage is open + fort events and activities in full swing = one helluva party. It’s Friday, y’all! Let’s do this.
Before we dive into today’s festivities, let’s relive yesterday thanks to our amazing Treefort film crew:

Music
Didn’t get to see artist-curator Lido Pimienta or Chicago rockers Twin Peaks yesterday? Don’t fret! They’ll be kicking off music at Main Stage this evening starting at 4:45pm. Later in the night, New York rapper Oddisee and backing band Good Compny will open for the one-and-only masters of funk, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic.
The acts at El Korah Shrine tonight will wow the pants off of you! The world sounds of locals Afrosonics and Oakland’s La Misa Negra get the party started, followed by throwback rockers Michael Rault and Cy Dune. Hanni El Khatib keeps you rockin’ and rollin’ before musical collective Antibalas brings the house down.
Head over to Linen Building starting with locals queen boychild at 5:00pm. Percussion ensemble Secret Drum Band keeps the beat going, unapologetic pop revisionist U.S. Girls teaches us how to love, and electro-pop Cavegreen brings us all closer together. Stick around for some late night dancing with Mr. Grant Olsen.
Lotsa old-school locals (plus some out-of-town friends) tonight at Neurolux*! Folk rockers eLDopamine, dreamy duo Genders, and pop two-piece XDS kick off music starting at 5:30pm. Psychedelic folk-pop group The Max Beefwater Band, progressive quartet Methods of Dance, heavy rockers H-Hour, and local yokels Dirt Fisherman get you ready for the reunion of local punk band Treepeople!
Packed punk lineup at Boise All-ages Movement Project (BAMP) today starting at 4:10pm! Locals Urban Outfielders, punk rock band Wicked Bears, heavy ear-shockers BLACKCLOUD, and Oakland punks Mt. Eddy play into the evening. The night only gets better thanks to garage-punk group Skinny the Kid, DIY queer punk La Louma, Nashville artist Pujol, and infectious pop punk band The Regrettes. If you didn’t catch The Districts yesterday, you can catch them closing out BAMP tonight!

Music Talks
Breakthrough: How to Get Noticed
Often times bands send out dozens of emails looking for industry support, but how do they break through the noise? A mix of music industry vets spanning record labels, PR professionals, media publications, sync licensing agents and talent buyers come together to share their experiences working with artists who have been able to break through and get noticed 12:00pm at The Olympic*. Panelists will share real stories of how they discovered certain acts and what set them apart in the discovery process. We’ll cover the do’s and don’t of submitting music for consideration.
Inside the Music Supervision Process
Back by popular demand, this panel will give attendees a first hand look into the creative process of music supervision 1:30pm at Linen Building. In advance of the panel, Treefort Music Fest artists will submit songs to different projects that a crew of music supervisors from various disciplines have worked on. Then, the supervisors will review the songs in real time, giving feedback about why the tracks may or may not work.
Sound & Vision
This panel discussion features designers, visual artists, and a special guest musician talking about art, design, and music. The Seattle Istanbul Poster Show exhibition at the Visual Arts Center as well as this panel discussion has been organized by the Visual Arts Center at Boise State University in partnership with the School of the Arts, the Art Department, the Arts and Humanities Institute, and Treefort Music Fest.
