Comedyfort

Roll on the floor laughing at Comedyfort 2019!

Comedyfort will take place Thursday through Sunday of Treefort Music Fest (March 20th-24th, 2019) at Liquid Lounge (21+). Additional Comedyfort performances will take place on Friday and Saturday night on the Treefort Main Stage, at Woodland Empire on Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. (21+), and on Friday at Alefort’s Sunday brunch at 12 p.m. (21+). Admission to Comedyfort is included with a Treefort Pass or single-show tickets can be bought at Liquid Lounge (21+).

In addition to standup comedy shows, Comedyfort will have two live podcast recordings in collaboration with Storyfort. Live podcasts include The Dork Forest on Friday at 6pm and All Fantasy Everything on Saturday at 5:30pm.

JACKIE KASHIAN

Jackie Kashian’s standup has been described as “like listening to a really racy episode of All Things Considered.” Her new album I AM NOT THE HERO OF THIS STORY is critically acclaimed and debuted at #1 on iTunes/Amazon and #3 on Billboard. This year she again did standup on CONAN, opened for Brian Regan at Carnegie Hall, and performed on HBO’s 2 Dope Queens.

She hosts The Dork Forest podcast; with over 8 million downloads, the show is a safe space for dork-on-dork dialog, with Jackie interviewing anyone and everyone about what they LOVE to talk and think about. Jackie is also a co-host to a comedy podcast on the Nerdist Network called The Jackie and Laurie Show.
 

 

YEDOYE TRAVIS

Yedoye Travis is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer from Atlanta, GA. He was named a New Face at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival in 2017 and has since headlined festivals around the country and appeared on TBS, Comedy Central, CBS, and Netflix and written for MTV and IFC. His debut album, OK, produced by Comedy Dynamics, was released January 2018 and he will be featured in the upcoming stand up series Unprotected Sets on EPIX.
 
 
 

 

SAM TALLENT

Known for whip-quick wit and rollicking improvisations, Sam Tallent is one of the sharpest, most original rising talents in comedy today. He has been called “the absurd voice of a surreal generation” by the Denver Post, and, when not maintaining a “Black Flag esque tour schedule” (Savage Henry Magazine), Sam has worked alongside many of the biggest names in comedy, including Dave Chappelle, Doug Stanhope, Dana Carvey, Russel Peters, Hannibal Buress and Ron White. Sam has performed at the Oddball Comedy Festival, High Plains Comedy Festival and the NY Film and Television Festival and he hosted the weekly film series Film on the Rocks at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, corralling 9000 people every Tuesday for two years. He recently won his battle on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, and was seen on VICELAND’s Flophouse as well as the Chris Gethard Show. His writing has been published on VICE.com. He lives in Denver with his wife and his dog.

Caitlin Weierhauser is pretty fun. Based in Los Angeles, by way of Portland, they bring coach vibes and joyfully-tantrum-prone attitude with their stand up. Winner of the Portland’s Funniest Person Contest 2016 and named one of SplitSider Magazine’s “Top Up and Coming Comedians” in 2015, Nariko Ott is definitely a name you won’t forget. He’s performed at the Seattle International Comedy Competition, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, The Beast Village Comedy Festival and the Idaho Laugh Fest. He was recently featured on the EPIX original “Unprotected Sets.” He also had the great pleasure of opening for Kurt Braunholer on his Comedy Central special “Trust Me.”

The charm of Sophie Hughes allows her to say and do things she shouldn’t be able to get away with. Her good looks have helped her to achieve regular work as a voice actor. NATASHA VINIK

Natasha Vinik is a Bay Area comedian. She’s the first to do stand-up in virtual reality, and with a mother from Peru and a Jewish, South African father, her unique perspective and experience makes her comedy fun, frightening, and falafel. Minus the falafel. She’s allergic.

Natasha regularly performs in the Bay Area – from the SF Punchline to Comedy Oakland, all the way up to a bowling alley in Rohnert Park and everywhere in between! She’s performed in Seattle and Portland, and she visits LA frequently – you might have caught her performing at the historic Ice House.

 

PAPP JOHNSON

Diego Attanasio is a Detroit based comedian originally from Peru who quickly wins over crowds with his quick wit, likability, and sarcastic observations. His rapid-fire delivery and onstage charisma make Diego one of the most notable acts in the midwest.


Diego has performed stand-up in Alaska, Hawaii, and everywhere in between. He was a semi-finalist in the San Diego Comedy Festival and a finalist in the Laugh Your Bluegrass Off Comedy Festival. Additionally he has performed at the Baltimore Comedy Festival, Cleveland Comedy Festival, Memphis Comedy Fest, North Carolina Comedy Festival, Idaho Laugh Fest, Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival, Beast Village Comedy Festival, Motor City Comedy Festival, Burning Bridges Comedy Festival, Whiskey Bear Comedy Festival, Gilda’s LaughFest, Border City Comedy Fest, Windsor Comedy Festival, Let’s Fest, and Fairbanks Funny Festival. MARCUS COLEMAN

Originally from St. Louis, Marcus Coleman was named one of Portland’s “Geniuses of Comedy” by the Portland Mercury in 2016 and Willamette Week’s Funniest 5 in 2017. A laid back shit-talker with a smile, he’s been called a “bright new star” and praised for “sharp, smart jabs on politics, family, and life as a black man” by Portland Mercury. Marcus has had the privilege to perform in some pretty amazing settings such as Revolution Hall, 2017 Bridgetown Comedy Festival, 2017 SF Sketchfest, 2017 Pickathon Festival, and Helium Comedy Club; where he is a regular host and was named “Dirty Dozen Roast Battle champion”. He hosts the raucous and unpredictable Midnight Mic every Friday night at Funhouse Lounge, and is one of the co-hosts of “You’re Welcome” at Mississippi Pizza.

 

ADAM PASI

Adam Pasi is a Portland comic who is quickly becoming among the most recognized names in Northwest comedy.

Born in Tacoma, WA and raised on army bases on the East Coast and in Germany, Adam’s unique outlook on life allows him to craft absurd yet relatable stories, culminating in admittedly ridiculous calls to arms.

Adam has appeared on Portlandia, performed on the Limestone, Big Sky, and Bridgetown comedy festivals. He features regularly at Helium Comedy Club, and was named Portland’s Funniest Person in 2016 by the Willamette Week (a free newspaper)

SOFIYA ALEXANDRA

Sofiya is a writer and comedian who grew up in Odessa, Ukraine, and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 11. You might have seen her on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening talking about her grandpa’s dick surgery while using some colorful Russian. Currently Sofiya’s a writer on Amazon’s Emmy-winning animated comedy Danger & Eggs. She’s been featured as a standup at a bunch of comedy festivals including Limestone, Laughing Skull, Women in Comedy, Bird City, Hell Yes, Out of Bounds and many more.

Sofiya was named one of The Fifty Funniest Women on Twitter by Playboy and one of 18 Funny Women You Should Be Following by Huffington Post. Her tweets regularly appear on Mandatory, Buzzfeed, Splitsider, Funny or Die, and HuffPo. She also produces a hit mystery-lineup comedy show called SURPRISE!, which has been featured in LAist, LA Weekly, The Los Angeles Review of Books and OneThingLA. She also beat breast cancer but if cancer is listening THIS IS NOT A CHALLENGE.

 

NONYE BROWN-WEST

Nonye Brown-West a Nigerian-American comedian, producer, and writer working theaters, clubs and colleges on the East Coast. She has been featured in the Boston Globe’s Rise column as a Comic to Watch, on SirusXM’s Sway In The Morning live as a part of the New York Comedy Festival, and on NPR.

Nonye also stars in and produces “Will Smith: The Comedy Variety Show” at the American Repertory Theater’s Club Oberon. She has opened for Gina Yashere and Michael Ian Black.

Born in Puerto Rico but raised in Florida, Chris Mejia is taking the Seattle comedy scene by storm. Chris’ comedy seamlessly blends fun pop culture observations with takes on harder subjects like living with Lupus and being a POC.

Chris has opened for national headliners such as Jak Knight, Langston Kerman and Kiry Shabazz, is a paid regular at the famous Comedy Underground and Laughs Comedy Club in Seattle, and was a Semi-Finalist for the 39th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition. Chris is regarded as a bright up & comer as he performs all across the West Coast.
 
 
 
 

 

AVIVA SIEGEL

Aviva is a stand-up comic by day, and a stand-up comic by night. Her jokes are silly (clown horn sound) yet personal (awooga), and she really just wants to have fun up there.

She lives in Oakland and produces shows like “Talkies” at the All Out Comedy Theater and Witches’ Brew, an all-women stand-up comedy seance. She’s been nominated as one of the “Best Comedians in the Bay” by the East Bay Express, and owns a “Best Actress” trophy that she bought for herself. SALLY BROOKS

Sally Brooks is a nationally touring stand-up comedian and writer whose personal stories of misadventure and fun-loving, smart-assed nature were honed in the back rooms of bars in Cincinnati, Ohio and now make her a favorite headliner and feature act at the top clubs and colleges across the country. Her debut album, “Brooks Was Here” was released by Rooftop Comedy and reached #5 on the iTunes Comedy charts. According to Pandora Radio “NYC-based comic Sally Brooks unleashes a relentless wit on her debut album.” The Laugh Button said she is “one of the hardest working comics in the business” and Axs.com called her a “rising star.”

Sally has appeared on SeeSo, the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Show, and Audible’s Limelight. She had a residency with the PIT Presents at the Peoples’ Improv Theater in NYC and has been invited to perform at many festivals including Limestone, Laughing Skull, the New York Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy, and Gilda’s LaughFest. Sally is the creator of the popular Suzy Jenkins web series, which was selected for the “Flick My Clip” short film festival and served as an inspiration for the HULU show “Mother UP!”.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

ALI SIMPSON

Based in Portland, Maine, Ali Simpson has performed comedy for three years in New England at venues ranging from bowling alleys where people did not know comedy was happening to breweries, to fantastic venues such as the Comedy Studio and ImprovBoston. She has performed at LaughFest in Grand Rapids, the What a Joke nationwide fundraising event for the ACLU and on the Nite Show (Maine’s version of Letterman–why Maine needs that, Ali does not know). She also produces shows with the Portland Comedy Co-op.

 

CASEY ROCKET

( boise, idaho )
Casey Rocket is a Boise-based comedian risen from the ashes of the great storytellers before him: Geoffrey Chaucer, Hunter S. Thompson, Verne Troyer, Grimace from McDonalds. A former staple, or at least a thumbtack, of the Atlanta comedy scene, he got his start in the pool halls of South Georgia before moving on to Boise to headline shows all over the region. During his travels he has featured and performed with comedians like David Dyer, Sofyia Alexandra, and Ian Karmel while frequently showing off his transgressions at Liquid Laughs in Boise.
