COMEDYFORT will be serving up loads of laughter thanks to headliners Jackie Kashian, a stand-up comedian whose 2017 critically acclaimed album I Am Not The Hero Of This Story was the #1 comedy album on iTunes and Amazon, and Yedoye Travis, a comic/actor/writer who will be featured in the upcoming stand up series Unprotected Sets on EPIX.
The future will have roadways, driveways, and parking lots that use solar powered panels thanks to HACKFORT‘s headliner, Solar Roadways, a company creating this technology in Sandpoint, Idaho. The panels have LEDs, heating elements, and microprocessors, among many other things. Solar Roadways famously created a successful Indiegogo campaign, raising $2.1 million and broke the record for most funders at the time.
KIDFORT has some treats for your tots at Kidfort 2019! Oregon Shadow Theatre will perform a shadow puppet play, Jack and the Dragon, and local YouTuber Jared Jacobs will teach a Lego stop-motion video production workshop. Plus, Kidfort classics such as Fortcraft, Youth Variety Showcase, Boise Rock School, and Kid’s Dance Battle will keep the kiddies busy!
STORYFORT is full of relevant, awe-inspiring events featuring a variety of writers, poets, and storytellers. At one of this year’s storytelling events, Border Stories: Modern Immigration, immigrants will share their stories behind the policies and path toward citizenship and residency in our country. Authors that will be attending Storyfort 2019 include Camille Acker, who recently released her debut short story collection, Training School for Negro Girls, Tommy Orange, who recently released There There, a multi-generational story about the lives of urban Native Americans, and Jamie Ford, bestselling author of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.
Get psyched for YOGAFORT 2019! This year there will be several magical offerings including shamanic ambient musician East Forest, international master yoga instructor Cristi Christensen, world-renowned musician/ teacher/energy healer Masood Ali Khan, and yogi/DJ/former guitarist for Beyoncé Bibi McGill.
