Formed in 2015 out of the reunion of old friends, and a battle of wits between new ones, Blackfriar is an instrumental post-metal that combines technicality with progressive metal elements. Both chaotic and patient, at times droning and hypnotic, at others completely mosh inducing. With narratives being delivered entirely by instrumentation, and compositions spanning multiple movements, the listener should find themselves freely engaging in the sonic envelope.
