Idaho Dance Theatre (IDT), is a professional contemporary dance company based in Boise, Idaho entering its 33rd season. IDT presents a season of public performances featuring the work of diverse choreographers and frequent collaborations with composers, musicians and other artists. The company is known for its dynamic, athletic dancers and innovative choreography that is compelling, entertaining and inspired. The company also has an outstanding interactive educational outreach program for grades K-12. In addition, Idaho Dance Theatre presents a two-week intensive workshop, Summer DanceFest, which is a training ground for pre-professional and professional dancers.

IDT was founded in 1989 by Fred and Marla Hansen. Since that time hundreds of dancers and choreographers, composers and musicians have collaborated to create contemporary dance for public performances. IDT has been a key player in the growth of dance in Boise for over 30 years and continues to attract dancers and choreographers from across the nation, expanding opportunities for dancers and audiences alike.
