The Prids
About
The founding members Mistina La Fave and David Frederickson met in La Fave’s small hometown of Saint Joseph, Missouri, in 1995, not long after Frederickson had moved there from Southern California. They started a relationship (they divorced in 2001, not long after they married), formed The Prids, and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, before settling in Portland, Oregon, in 1999. In that time they’ve released four full-lengths and a trail of EPs, toured all over the world, while gaining the respect of bands throughout Portland for their tenacity and longevity (The Prids are one of the longest-running active bands in the city). They continue releasing albums on their own record label collective This-a-Way Records. This-a-Way is community driven, not for profit record label which which takes the 90s DIY model and transforms it for a new era. A collective of friends who work together to promote one another’s creative projects which includes Boise’s Sick Wish, We Miss The Earth (Wayne Flower of Treepeople’s new band) and several other bands from the NW. 2020 brings the re-issue of the band’s first two albums ‘Until the World is Beautiful’ and ‘Love Zero’ on vinyl. Their Treefort performance is the Boise release show for their seminal post punk albums.
