The Rare Forms
About
The Rare Forms are one of the newest Rock’n’Roll outfits to emerge from the Northwest’s thriving music scene. The band may be new, but the musicians behind it are seasoned veterans of sound including members of: The Shivas, VHS, Marion Walker, King Dude and Big Eyes. Their debut LP on Casino Trash Records offers eleven songs of heart throbbing Rock’n’Roll. The undeniable influence of the Northwest can be heard throughout The Rare Forms work as they further an evolution of artists such as The Wipers and Dead Moon. The Rare Forms use all of the ingredients of the Punk/Rock’n’Roll formula (booming drums, driving bass, big guitars, and intoxicating vocals) while maintaining a vibe all their own with sharp, smart, and sexy songs. Kristin Leonard’s voice is simultaneously all powerful and forever vulnerable while comfortably commanding the high energy wall of sound The Rare Forms create. One can’t help but be reminded of Grace Slick or Debbie Harry when introduced to Leonard’s voice.
